TSCM sweeps are aimed at searching for the presence of listening, ambient or surveillance devices inside premises. Two experts carry out the counter-surveillance operations.

Different measurements and searches are carried out during the sweep. The data is saved and remains available to be used as a comparison in potential future operations. They concern the following fields: searching for ambient devices, detecting carrier current, infrared and visible light detection, IMSI-Catcher detection, verification of WiFi and telephone networks and physical searches.

An initial verbal report is drafted at the end of the operation, explaining the sweeps carried out, potential weaknesses or vulnerabilities detected and presenting primary recommendations. Another report is submitted 10 days after the TSCM operation.
