Myanmar / Thailand: earthquake measuring 7.7 strikes northwest of Sagaing (Myanmar) 28 March, the strong effects of which were felt in Bangkok (Thailand). More than 3,000 dead and 4,715 injured in Myanmar, 8 dead when a building under construction collapsed in Bangkok.

South Korea: state of emergency declared in regions affected by violent forest fires from 21 March, leaving at least 29 people dead, destroying more than 2,900 homes, with 35,000 hectares of forest destroyed by fire as of 29 March. Ongoing demonstrations for and against the impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol.

Israel/Palestine: missile strikes from Yemen intercepted. Ongoing strikes and tension at the border between Israel and Lebanon. Intensification of Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip and launch of “targeted ground operations”, resulting over 730 fatalities since 17 March.

Pakistan: 450 passengers taken hostage on the Jaffar Express train, claimed by the BLA Baloch separatist group in Bolan District (Balochistan) 11 March, resulting in the death of at least 21 civilians and 4 members of the security forces. Renewed attacks claimed by the TTP.

Türkiye: the leader of the opposition, Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, arrested on orders of President Erdogan, sparking mass demonstrations, especially in Istanbul, despite crackdown, exacerbating socio-political tension in the country.
