In total, more than 15 million people are expected to flock to Paris over the 2024 summer on the occasion of the world’s biggest sporting event. The Olympic and Paralympic Games, which will take place from 26 July to 11 August and from 28 August to 8 September respectively, will generate major security challenges for the authorities and companies.
Significant security reinforcements and travel disruption should be expected, while the period is also likely to be conducive to an uptick in crime – whether opportunistic crime or cybercrime – social movements and the threat of terrorism.

Over the course of the four months between the arrival of the Olympic Flame in Marseille 8 May and the end of the Paralympic Games 8 September, various events, such as Bastille Day and the Tour de France, will be held during the period and will pose similar challenges for the movements and safety of travellers.

In view of such a particular situation, marked by both structural and cyclical multi-factorial risks, anticipating and detecting events likely to have a greater impact on the activities and image of companies is proving to be particularly strategic.
